Intel goes wild with new SSD chips series. As you can see on picture new Z-P140 PATA SSD chips are as small as coin with 2GB and 4GB capacity and weight less than a drop of water. We’re expecting showcasing this new chips at CES next month and eagerly waiting to see what improvements it will bring into DAP and mobile phone industry.

Fujitsu announced new type of portable memory that could easily replace current types. ReRAM maintain data after power is lost, same as flash storage but with one advance - speed. The current needed to erase memory from chip has been reduced to 100 micro Amperes and time for managing such operation shortened to 5 nanoseconds. Fujitsu’s ReRAM technology is still in early phase of development, but it is worth waiting some time until official release.

Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) showcases latest flexible display technology including a color 10.4-inch cholesteric LCD (Ch-LC) flexible display and a flexible LED backlighting unit (BLU). Latest 10.4-inch color flexible display features two plastic substrates and a thickness of less than 10mm. This design concept reduces the 50% of size comparing to previous models that used glass substrate. The research institute also announced a flexible LED-based BLU that has been successfully used in a 7 inch color flexible active matrix (AM) LCD display.

Demand for larger mobile displays is accelerating as telecom players push mobile content and mobile advertisements to compensate for shrinking growth in voice revenues. The solution is to unroll the display when needed and simply store away when not in use. Polymer Vision has announced that the company develops its rollable display and first models are on assembly line. This rollable display will be used in Readius 3G mobile phone and it’s supposed to be available before the end of the year.

This is not portable HD made completely of chocolate. This concept of bunch of flash drives perfectly resembles on chocolate, that’s all. Modular form of USB hub and flash drives, like chocolate pieces suggests very useful options such as storing special soft of files on just one piece that can be easily taken with you when you go to work. Each peace has a different label and center portion of the hub is a touchscreen that helps you keeping your files organized. Pretty handy concept don’t you agree?

After looking at latest PMP from Plezo you obviously must ask yourself could it be smaller? With 52×33x12mm dimensions Avox NF-101 features small display, FM radio, a voice recorder and useless e-book reader. And that’s not all, for those who enjoy listening music with friends there is small 500mW built-in speaker. No ideas when it will be released but could it be in any way competitive to the iPod Shuffle?
