The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) announced that the Radeon HD 3000 series of graphics cards and AMD-based 780G-based motherboards are the first products in the Industry to receive DisplayPort certification. At the same time Dell has a new 30 inch monitor 3008WFP that also has a DisplayPort certification.

Western Digital has a new cooler, quieter, economical and speedy two-platter 640GB 3.5-inch hard drive, WD Caviar SE16 640GB SATA drive. The disk has two 320GB platters, boast 3GB-per-second transfer rates and Native Command Queuing (NCQ). The 640GB capacity point will be an important one for our desktop customers, and WD is leading high-volume shipments to the channel and OEM customers.
