Lenovo has officially launched IdeaPad U8 at the Olympics games in Beijing and so far this will be just Asia only release. The U8 sports 4.8 inch touchscreen, Intel’s sub-3 watt processor with 2GB memory and 6GB flash storage, dual cameras, support for China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting (CMMB) digital television via USB dongle and 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, EDGE data and China-specific TD-SCDMA 3G. The IdeaPad U8 measures 21 x 173 x 84 mm and weights just 350 grams. Rumors says that European and North American release will sport WiMAX.
HP has launched new 2730p tablet running on Centrino 2 technology. The 2730p tablet sport 12 inch display and new inclusion of a touchpad and new jog-dial along the side for use when the tablet is in slate mode. Also there is Qualcomm’s Gobi dual EV-DO / HSPA wireless, 1.8-inch 5400RPM hard drive, 80GB SSD and ULV or LV Core 2 Duo processors. Of course don’t forget optional webcam and memory card reader and battery good for 10 hours of work.
Sony has unveiled whole new collection of Walkman players at Sony’s New Zealand website. New models are NWZ-E435, NWZ-E436, and NWZ-E438 and all sport 2 inch QVGA LCD display, FM tuner, support for MP3, AAC, WMA, and Linear PCM files, weighting just 50 grams. All models will be available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB variations and colors. However there is no info about prices and release date.
OCZ has new models form Core Series V2 of 2.5-inch drives. New sizes are 30GB, 60GB, 120GB and 250GB and the access times are up to 170MBps read and 98MBps write. On the case you will see the mini USB port for much easier firmware upgrades. Expected prices are about the same as original Core lineup.
