HP today also introduced two new laptops from HDX series. The X16 sports 16 inch display and Intel 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, the NVIDIA’s 512MB GeForce 9600 GT graphics, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, 320GB hard drive, dual-layer SuperMulti optical drive and built in WiFi and Bluetooth. On the other hand X18 features 18 inch display with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, two 250GB hard drives and Blu-ray reader. Other specs are the same as at X16. Also the notebooks sport Ethernet port, multicard reader, integrated Altec Lansing speakers, ExpressCard slot, four USB 2.0, audio in/out, HDMI/VGA and a 4-pin FireWire connector. Should be available in stores by the end of the month for $1,249 and $1549, respectively.
HP has released next generation of desktop PCs, the new TouchSmart IQ800 series. Two models TouchSmart IQ804 and IQ816 feature 25.5-inch touchscreen with 1920 x 1200 resolution, TV tuner, webcam, Bluetooth, HP Pocket Media drive bay, illuminate keyboard. The IQ804 sport Intel’s 2.16GHz T5850 Core 2 Duo processor while the IQ816 has a 2.10GHz T8100 Core 2 Duo CPU. Also the IQ816 has a Blu-ray drive and GeForce 9600M GS graphics. The IQ804 will come to the stores at September 21 for $1,899, while the IQ816 will be available from October 12 and can be yours for $2,099 dollars.
Two leading storage providers Western Digital and Fujitsu are working on improving the capacities in 2.5 inch hard drives and we can expect the 750GB 2.5 inch drives by the mid 2009 while the 1TB models are expected in 2010.
