ViewSonic revealed its new prototype 120Hz LCD display that will boos all the HDTV powers. The upcoming display features 22 inch and 1680 x 1050 resolution along with dual-link DVI inputs, stereoscopic 3D support, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 3ms response and 4-watt speakers. Unfortunately there is no release date and pricing information.

BenQ unveiled two new LCD displays featuring 16:10 widescreen aspect ratio. Both 22 inch G2200WT and 24 inch G2400WT sport 2,500:1 and 4,000:1 contrast ratios, DVI and VGA ports. The G2400WT also has HDMI input and headphone jack for audio pleasures. Expected to hit the stores somewhere this month in UK for £180 and £318 respectively.

AOC has unveiled new HD “Envision” LCDs sizing from 19 to 32 inches. First model, the L19W861 is designed to be a monitor with 1440 x 900 resolution and will cost $299. Other two, the 26 inch L26W861 and 32 inch L32W861 sport a smaller 1366 x 768 resolution, with $499 and $599 prices respectively. All models sport HDMI, PC input with audio and ATSC/Clear QAM tuners.

Fujitsu Siemens has unveiled new eco displays the 20-inch P20W-5 ECO and the 22-inch P22W-5 ECO . Both of them are bearing the title of first displays on the world that automatically switch off completely in power-save mode. In that way they don’t use any power when not in use, while most of other LCD displays still use some energy in stand-by mode. Also new displays use the DisplayView AutoBright functionality, which automatically adjusts brightness “in harmony with ambient light” in order to net even greater power savings. ECO displays are available right now and can be yours for $625 dollars.

Sony has stated that they will start selling OLED XEL-1 TV displays in Europe from 2009. This is interesting news since the very same products are available in Japan from December 2007 and recently has entered the US market. The European customers can expect 11 inch screen with 1,000,000:1 contrast and starting price of just $2,500 bucks.

The HP has released new displays 24-inch LP2475w and 22-inch LP2275w. The LP2475w sport 1920 x 1200 resolution while LP2275w features 1680 x 1050. Both displays have 1000:1 contrast ratios, extra-bright panels and adjustable stands. You can get them in stores from next month and expected prices are between $459 and $649 dollars.

AOC has introduced new 2218Ph LCD monitor claiming to bring the element of Mac style for PC users. The monitor features 12,000:1 dynamic contrast, 2ms response, 1,680 x 1,050 native resolution and HDCP-compliant HDMI input, Glare screen protecting against glare and provides improved color saturation. The style is quite good polished aluminum cabinet, a zinc multi-flex stand and a piano black finish. Estimated price is $429.99 bucks.

Sharp has developed the special 26 inch LCD prototype with option to get the power from solar module. As the developers say this model is using a quarter of the power of a conventional CRT with the same screen size. So, with the LCD you get Sharp triple-junction thin-film solar cell module that will provide enough power for TV to work.
